Pulse Cut DieboardsAdvanced Laser Dies announces a new feature called "Pulse Cutting", which cuts a dieboard kerf using a series of short laser pulses instead of a continuous wave beam. Instead of a smooth-edged slot in the dieboard, the laser kerf is a series of slightly overlapping drilled holes. The points of overlap create a serrated edge which holds the steel rule very tightly, but with less stress buildup. The benefits of this feature are a dieboard that can be laser cut tighter than a normal dieboard without warping when knifed. The number of re-knifes possible on a given dieboard is increased. Knife holding power is improved. Variations in dieboard kerf due to the inherent variability of wood are also reduced. This is a premium feature, which takes extra time and adds extra cost. Obviously it's not for everyone, but if your customers require this, we are ready to supply your needs. Contact Us
